Power System Electrician

Our client, a leading producer of renewable energy sources is actively seeking three (3) Power System Electricians to join their busy Fort McMurray, Alberta location. Reporting directly to the unit supervisor,the Power System Electrician is responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of the Transmission and Distribution system, equipment and protective relaying, and metering andcommunication systems (13.8kV and 260kV) at Oil sands facilities.

 

Requirements

 

In order to achieve success in this role, understanding of the following is required:

  • Maintenance, predictive inspections and testing on substation equipment, (including power lines)
  • Transmission & Distribution System operational duties
  • Development of scope of work, draft procedures and routine repairs
  • Detailed work notifications and material procurement
  • Participation in development of business goals and risk management practices
  • Conduct testing, analyze data, report findings, recommend follow-up strategies for Transmission & Distribution equipment

 

Qualifications

 

  • Power Systems Electrician Journeyman ticket
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in testing, maintenance and repair of 13.8kV to 260kV electrical apparatus
  • Clean drivers abstract

 

This is a shift work position, with 5 days on and 4 days off. This is not a camp position and full relocation will be provided within Canada.

Reporting directly to the unit supervisor,the Power Line Technician is responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of the Transmission and Distribution system, equipment and protective relaying, and metering and communication systems (13.8kV and 260kV) at Oil sands facilities.
